About us
Who we are
The Paul of Tarsus Spiritist Society (PTSS) was created on November 2015 in Vancouver BC Canada, and since February 2016 is a member of the Canadian Spiritist Council (CSC). On April 3rd 2016 we had our directors elected and bylaws approved.
We are a non-profit organization that promotes the study, practice and dissemination of the Spiritist Doctrine as codified by Allan Kardec.
As a society we welcome new members that share our ideals and abide by our bylaws and internal rules. We welcome everyone who is willing to join us in this journey of continuous moral progress and righteous discipline.
What is a Spiritist Society?
Spiritists meet to study, work, and pray together.
Spiritists do not have what is commonly referred to as a church, temple, shrine, etc. In fact, Spiritism is not actually a religion in the traditional sense, since there exists no hierarchical structure of authority or dogmatic practices. The place where Spiritists gather is referred to as a spiritist society, center or group. There, they collaborate with one another and with spiritual benefactors, in the study and practice of Spiritism, aiming their self-improvement, and the dissemination of Spiritism.
Spiritist societies operate independently, or affiliated with larger associations or federations that bring various groups together for events and special initiatives related to the dissemination of Spiritism. The Societies are often (though not always) named after a historical pioneer of Spiritism, a mentoring Spirit, or sometimes a charitable quality.
The Society is organized and run by volunteers and the activities are free for the public.

Our Mission
Our mission is the dissemination of Spiritism as codified by Allan Kardec in all its scientific, philosophical and religious principles, associated with the early teachings of Jesus Christ, aiming for the development of the human being’s consciousness and inner transformation, through study, practice, prayer and reflection.

If You Can
If you can, yet today:
Forget the tribulations and show a bigger smile to those who share life with you;
Give one more touch of happiness and beauty to your home;
Go visit, even for a short time, the sick person you wish to encourage;
Write, even if it’s a simple note, transmitting hope and tranquility, on somebody’s benefit;
Enhance your knowledge on the work area you’re currently employing your time on;
Extend some more optimism and joy to the ones you live with;
Try to forget – but really forget – everything that means a reason for sadness or exasperation;
Read some enlightening page and listen to music that sets peace to your heart;
Dedicate some minutes to meditate and pray;
Practice, at least, one good deed without telling it to anyone.
These indications of spiritual support, if respected, will do a great good to others, but will be good especially to you.
