Chico Xavier

Famous Brazilian Spiritist medium, Chico Xavier was born April 2, 1910, and died in June 30, 2002. Since early childhood he became accustomed to hearing voices and sensing Spirits´ presences.
He became a practicing medium in 1927 at the age of 17, and manifested an ability for automatic writing, from Spirit dictation.
In 1931 Emmanuel, his Spirit guide, recommended him to study, make efforts for goodness, and work with exceedingly discipline. Most importantly, he told him to follow, above all, the teachings of Jesus and the lessons of Allan Kardec. This perfect interaction among Emmanuel, Jesus and Kardec is apparent throughout the many books dictated by the mentor.
Chico Xavier produced more than 10.000 letters and 468 books dictated by hundreds of different Spirits. However, he never accepted payment for any of his books and even disclaimed personal credit by using the phrase “Dictated by the Spirit of” on the title page.
Several of his books are translated into Spanish, French, Japanese, Greek, Esperanto, English, etc.
In 1943 he published Nosso Lar, the first of a series of 15 books dictated by the Spirit André Luiz, revealing doctrinal and scientific information about life after discarnation.
Nosso Lar is the bestseller of Xavier’s works and in 2010 it was adapted for the big screen with enormous success.
Xavier is considered one of the greatest disseminators of Spiritism, who dedicated his life to service his neighboor beyond any religious barriers, doing the Good and Charity to all, with humbleness and simplicity.
